The Tablet Update
While doing my research on the gadget-to-be, I suddenly had this image of myself caught up in a frenzied crowd of people, throwing tablets every which way, with people yelling, "New! Released Today!", "Quad-core tablet, very cheap! Released Today!", "New Budget tablet! Announced Today!", "New Tablet! Recently Launched!". Every techie website I visit for every single review I read comes complete with new gadgets just released today, or announced today. It's like these brands come out with the latest model every six months.
And if you've been doing the research long enough, you'd start thinking, "Is it too early for me to buy a tablet? Should I just wait until the next one comes out?"
Well, I have finally reached that cross road. I have decided on which tablet to purchase. See above. I settled for this one because for a "budget" tablet, it is the only one that has decent reviews and decent specs on it compared to others. There is actually another tablet made by the same manufacturer that costs PHP 500 more (Fine, it's the Cherry Mobile Fusion Fire) that's got bigger, better features but does not have the capability to call and text. So, no go on that one.
But the more important point is that just last October I think it was when I was considering to buy the Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt because of the reviews I read about it. It's supposed to have really good graphics, and it's supposed to support heavy gaming. However, it's not 3G Capable.
See, I'm looking for a tablet that would allow me to browse using a sim card without having to use the OTG USB Dongle unless I really, really have to. And even if, I'd probably just stick a broadband sim in there to get it going.
But what's really daunting is the fact that it's only December now. If I get my tablet now, and I going to be spending a lot of money for a tablet that I'm sure is going to depreciate probably a month after I buy it? What's worse, I hear the aftermarket support for this manufacturer is quite terrible, and I've been in their waiting area at SM North Edsa where there were a lot of people. We actually had to wait two hours. If the person I was with lacked the charms he was capable of, most likely, we would've been told to wait 3 to 4 weeks like every one else was told to wait.
But in any case, I like the feel and touch of this tablet. I'm hoping Unbox.ph does a review on it soon. I think they have, I'll have to check real quick! I know they haven't yet.
So after careful research, and considering my budget, this is as high as I'm willing to pay for a tablet. If you've got better suggestions for the same price, or lower, I'd be happy to look into it!
