A Few Months Later: My Road to Financial Freedom

It's been a few months before I was able to get back here and post an update to on my journey to financial freedom. I just came home from shift, so I'm not really in prime condition to blog about anything.  Oh, I just revisited my blog. So it wasn't actually a few months, but it was just a few weeks.  Well, a little over two months.  Anyway, no posts last October and November because I believe during that time, I was in the stage where I just had to let the pot simmer, and consistently pay my debts.

Well, I am happy to report that November 22nd has come and so has December 7th.  My loan to Ate Lou has officially been over! I am free from one debt.   The only debt I have left over is my debt to Ate Christy.   This year, I'm planning to end the year debt-free from time-bound debts and so I'm going to deposit the entire amount into Ate Christy's account by the end of the year.

So just a few things I'm polishing right now, and a few accomplishments that I have achieved while I was absent from the Internet:

  1. My acne scars have improved.  I have started using Mary Kay products to help my skin be better.  So far, after a month of using their Acne Prone skin care kit, I haven't had any more humongous breakouts.  Miraculously, some of the scars have also diminished. I remember having 3 large pimples that turned into large brown spots that converged on one another, thereby resembling a tiny island off of the coast of the Philippines islands.  Thankfully, that island has diminished and now actually look like the spots they started as.  In room lighting, it is not as evident.  But it is once I'm under natural light outside.
  2. I have finally opened a bank account with PS Bank.  Admittedly, I'm still struggling with myself whenever I have cravings.  Now that I actually have extra cash, it's not very helpful that I have Extra Money because I know I have extra money.  I'm thinking about opening a separate bank account for expenses, but I think that's going to be pretty hard, and maybe I should just stick to my payroll ATM account, and my PS Bank account, and just keep the ATM like I planned.

With that said, I am now struggling with what I used to struggle before.  The knowledge that I have extra cash.

Now, I keep thinking of what the usual person is thinking after budgeting money:  What else can I spend my money on?  Which is not good!

I was actually supposed to create a pro and con list of why I was going to upgrade to a smartphone hopefully by the end of the year, or at least by next year.  Truthfully, I don't think I have enough to leave space to buy a smart phone.  So I need to work with what I currently have.

I think I need to get back to that list.

So far, I have also created a nifty, back-to-basics little "checkpoint" (or I should say STOP LIGHT; that has more impact) that allows me to figure out whether I need to succumb to my craving or not.

So... that's how I'm going to be qualifying if I should spend or not.  Well, I've got a ton of stuff to do.  Need to do some research, re-budget, and see what I end up with. :)
